WASHINGTON – Feb. 9, 2026 – PRLog — The National Hispanic Cannabis Council (NHCC), dedicated to advancing Hispanic participation in the legal cannabis industry through education, economic empowerment, and policy advocacy, today announced the strategic expansion of its leadership team with the appointment of Susie Plascencia as Co-Executive Director, serving alongside Aaron Lopez, NHCC Executive Board Member and principal at Political Capital LLC.

This leadership expansion reflects NHCC’s continued commitment to addressing the underrepresentation of U.S. Hispanics in the cannabis industry while strengthening its national impact across education, health and wellness, economic opportunity, and public policy.

In conjunction with this announcement, NHCC also unveiled the launch of a new initiative: the National Latina Cannabis Leadership Council, an NHCC project dedicated to advancing Latina leadership, representation, and influence within the cannabis ecosystem. The Council will be founded and led by Susie Plascencia, who will serve as its Executive Director.

“As NHCC continues to grow its national footprint, this leadership expansion reflects our commitment to building durable, inclusive structures that elevate Hispanic voices across policy, business, and community engagement,” said Brian Vicente. “Susie’s appointment and the launch of the National Latina Cannabis Leadership Council reinforce our mission to ensure that Hispanic—and specifically Latina—leaders are shaping the future of this industry.”

Susie Plascencia is a nationally recognized cannabis entrepreneur, advocate, and community leader whose work has helped redefine access, leadership, and opportunity for Latina professionals in the cannabis space. She is the Founder and CEO of Latinas in Cannabis, an internationally recognized organization and events platform that champions professional development, mentorship, and representation for Latinas across the industry.

Susie is the Co-Founder of MOTA Glass, a nationally respected Latino-owned cannabis accessories brand, and the Founder of Altura Brands, a cannabis-focused house of brands rooted in Latino heritage, strategic growth, and cultural authenticity.

Through the National Latina Cannabis Leadership Council, NHCC will deepen its mission with a focused effort to support Latina professionals through education,
leadership development, advocacy, and strategic engagement with policymakers, industry leaders, and institutional partners. The initiative will advance Latina participation in policy discussions, economic opportunity, and leadership pathways at both the state and federal levels.

“Latinas have long been drivers of culture, community, and entrepreneurship, yet remain underrepresented in positions of influence within cannabis,” said Susie Plascencia. As Co-Executive Directors, Plascencia and Lopez will work collaboratively to guide NHCC’s strategic vision, expand partnerships, and strengthen the organization’s role as a national voice for Hispanic participation in cannabis—bridging education, health and wellness, economic access, and policy reform.
